What the MOT history shows
Each test lists the date, result, test number, odometer reading and every defect the tester recorded — from minor advisories to dangerous failures.
Why it matters
Repeated advisories on the same part (brakes, tyres, corrosion) tell you what will need money soon. Gaps between tests may mean the car was off the road, and a drop in mileage between tests is a red flag for clocking.
When does a car need an MOT?
In Great Britain, cars need their first MOT three years after registration and then every year. Driving without a valid MOT can lead to a fine of up to £1,000.
